Victor Camacho is the founder of High Performance Tutoring. He started the company with a simple conviction: that one-on-one tutoring, done by the right person, can change a student's entire relationship with a subject — and that most families have a hard time finding that person on their own.

For more than 20 years he has personally taught math, science, and SAT and ACT prep, and he still tutors more hours than almost anyone on the team. That daily time with students is where his convictions come from: that every student can succeed with the right support, that confidence drives results as much as content does, and that the quality of the tutor is the single biggest factor in whether tutoring works.

It's why he personally interviews every tutor High Performance hires and turns away the large majority of applicants — he's looking for the rare people who combine deep subject knowledge, the ability to explain it clearly, and the patience to meet a student exactly where they are.

Today High Performance Tutoring serves families across San Diego, the Bay Area, Salt Lake City, and Denver, plus online nationwide — but Victor's approach hasn't changed since the beginning: listen to the student's goals, match them with the right tutor, and stay involved.
