How Much Does a Private Tutor Cost?

The rate you see is only part of the story, and the good news for academic tutoring is that you have flexible ways to pay. What you actually spend depends on how much help your student needs, not on a big up-front commitment.

How paying for academic tutoring works

Pay as you go. No contract and no minimum. You pay only for the sessions you use, so you can start small and adjust as you go.
An optional package. If you want to save, an optional 10-hour package lowers the rate. It is purely to save money and is never required.

Either way, your first hour is free.

What makes the cost go up or down

How often you meet. Weekly support costs more overall than occasional sessions, but keeps a struggling student on track.
Pay-as-you-go vs. the package. The optional 10-hour package lowers the effective rate.
In person or online. Online and in-person sessions are priced differently, so ask for the rate for your preferred format.

Start with a free first hour. The best way to judge the value is to see it first. Your first hour is free, with no commitment and no contract, so you can decide whether to continue after you have seen a real session.
