A Message from Our Founder

Dear Students and Parents,

My greatest joy in life is seeing that "light bulb" moment when a concept suddenly clicks for a student. Learning should be an exciting and lifelong pursuit, no matter a person's age or background. Since graduating from Harvey Mudd College in 2007, I've devoted more than 15,000 hours to private tutoring, helping students reach their academic goals. Along the way, I've also had the privilege of teaching university courses in math, science, and engineering.

Through this work, I've seen firsthand the transformative impact a dedicated tutor can have. When schoolwork feels confusing, even the simplest problems can seem overwhelming. Students often lose confidence and feel tempted to give up. A great tutor helps rebuild that confidence, reminding students of their true potential and showing them what they're capable of achieving.

Back in 2011, I gathered a team of educators, community leaders, students, and learning psychologists with a shared mission: to design a tutoring model that truly works for local communities. Together, we spent months brainstorming, debating, and refining until we created what would become High Performance Tutoring, a company built from the ground up to deliver affordable, high-quality, and impactful academic support.

Our vision has always been simple: make a real difference in students' lives. The best learning happens with the best tutors. Families already know the importance of a good education.
