SAT & ACT Prep Program Terms

What a program includes

• The one-on-one tutoring hours you choose (12, 24, or 48 hours, or a custom plan). Hours are live instructional time with your tutor, online or in person.
• Your first tutoring hour is free and is added on top of the program.
• A personalized plan, targeted skill work, homework and practice assignments, and review of practice test results.
• All instructional materials, at no extra cost.
• The same tutor for the whole program whenever possible. If a change is ever needed, we arrange a replacement.

Full-length practice tests are taken on your own (for the SAT, in College Board's Bluebook app), so they don't use program hours. Your tutor reviews the results with your student in regular sessions, and writes feedback after every session on what was covered and what's next.

Scheduling

• At the start, we set a consistent weekly schedule, for example Tuesdays and Thursdays at 4 PM.
• Most sessions are 60 minutes. Sessions can be 90 minutes or 2 hours when it fits the timeline.
• We usually recommend 2 to 3 sessions a week, continuing through the week of the test.
• In-person sessions meet at an agreed spot in the tutor's area, such as a library, or at your home if the tutor meets in homes.

Rescheduling and cancellation

• Reschedule or cancel with at least 6 hours' notice and the session isn't deducted from your hours.
• Sessions cancelled with less than 6 hours' notice, or missed without notice, are deducted.
• We may make exceptions for illness or emergencies.

Payment

The full program price is due before the first paid session. Pay by card, or choose monthly payments with Affirm, subject to eligibility. Refunds go back to your original payment method. Current prices are on the test prep pricing page.

If you finish early: credit and refunds

Programs are a commitment to the hours you buy, but you have options if you stop early. If you stop before all hours are used, you choose one of two options:

In-person and custom programs follow the same steps, at your metro's in-person rates for in-person hours. Refund = what you paid minus the re-priced value of the hours used. If that comes to zero or less, there's no refund, and no refund applies once all hours are used.

If your tutor becomes unavailable (for example, illness or relocation), you can continue with a replacement tutor or get a refund for the unused hours at your program's rate.

Results

We don't guarantee a specific score. Results depend on starting point, attendance, homework, practice tests, and time before the test. Our best students have gained 300+ SAT points or 7+ ACT points; most who complete our program gain 150 to 300 (SAT) or 3 to 7 (ACT).

Conduct

We keep sessions respectful and focused. We may end a program without a refund for serious or repeated misconduct, such as harassment or conduct that puts a tutor's safety at risk.
