Bio: I am a Ph.D. chemist with a focus on the synthesis of new inorganic compounds; that means I have used many of the reagents and instruments that you learn about in your textbooks. I have nearly 10 years of experience teaching laboratories and tutorials over the course of my degrees. My goal is to help students realize that chemistry courses are about understanding and become puzzles once you know the fundamentals, and I want to show you how to think about chemistry rather than resort to memorization. It’s actually easier in the long run when you understand the basic concepts, and you can reason through problems on tests this way rather than freeze up if you don’t 'remember' the answer immediately.
