Dear Students and Parents,

My greatest joy in life is seeing that “light bulb” moment — when a difficult concept suddenly makes sense and a student realizes, “I can do this.” Learning should be exciting and empowering at every age, whether you’re a high schooler preparing for the SAT or a college student mastering advanced physics.

Since graduating from Harvey Mudd College in 2007, I’ve devoted over 15,000 hours to tutoring students in math, science, and test prep, and I’ve had the privilege of teaching university-level courses in those same subjects. Through these experiences, I’ve witnessed how profoundly a great tutor can change a student’s outlook.

When coursework feels confusing, even bright students begin to doubt themselves. Confidence slips, and motivation follows. But with the right guidance, everything turns around. A skilled tutor doesn’t just explain ideas — they rebuild confidence, nurture curiosity, and help students rediscover their potential. That transformation is what inspired me to create High Performance Tutoring.

Back in 2011, I assembled a team of educators, community leaders, and learning experts with one goal: to design a tutoring model that truly serves local communities. From our early beginnings in Salt Lake City, we’ve grown nationwide — and now we’re proud to bring that same commitment to excellence to Berkeley, California, one of the nation’s most vibrant academic centers.
