Bio: I am a former classroom math teacher who has been tutoring online since 2018. I graduated from Michigan State University, did masters coursework in Instruction and Curriculum at University of Denver, and earned my teaching license from University of Colorado Denver. I taught math at the former Montbello High School and at John F. Kennedy High School in Denver. My side gig is writing test-prep curriculum for a variety of edtech companies, so I know the tests’ tricks inside and out, and I’d love to share them with you! I struggled with math as a student, which I believe makes me a stronger tutor now – I understand what my students are going through and will never judge a kid for being confused. I believe that we all have an inner “math person,” we just may not have met them yet. While math is my favorite thing to teach, I also love getting into the nitty-gritty of grammar and the intricacies of reading comprehension. In my free time you can find me up to my elbows in my garden, buried in the basement with my video games, or paying entirely too much attention to my cat.
